Hello! My name is Ms. Danielle Hurtado and I am the kindergarten, first, and second grade teacher here at McNeal Elementary. This will be my fourth year teaching. I received my Bachelors in Elementary Education degree from the University of Arizona. I started my teaching career in Douglas, AZ and it is where I live with my two children, Jacob (11) and Paisley (2). I was very fortunate to be able to join this amazing school district. Although I absolutely loved working in Douglas, I have found that having a smaller class size has shown a difference in my teaching and in my students learning. CLASS SIZE MAKES A DIFFERENCE! I am able to focus on each individual student's learning styles and I am able to meet them where they are at and create a plan to help them show growth and challenge them. In our classroom we say morning affirmations everyday. Your child will come to school not only to learn, but to learn to love themselves and learn how to work with others in a safe environment. I believe children learn best through play, so we get to play a lot in our classroom. We work hard in order to earn our play time which is a win for the students and a win for me. The students at McNeal Elementary are respectful and kind.
There are many benefits from coming to our school. As an educator, smaller class sizes are not only beneficial to the teacher but also to your child's learning. Our school goes from K to 8th Grade. There are three teachers. I teach the kindergartens, first and second grade students so your child will stay with me for three years. This is also beneficial to your child's education since I am able to get to know your child and their learning styles and move them forward on their own learning path. Our school breakfast and lunch is amazing and you can apply for free or reduced meals. We are on a four-day week, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 3:15 pm.
